Ombre Jean Shorts

One of my favourite DIYs is to take something from your own closet and revamping it into something even better. I actually have a pile of jeans that was left forgotten and no longer worn, and I have been wanting to do something with it for a while now. So after watching a couple of YouTube videos and reading tutorials, I thought it would be a fun idea to do an ombre jean shorts!

Although I am quite satisfied with the results, there's still a lot of improvements needs to be done. I still need to make adjustments around the thigh area and maybe do another bit of bleaching at the bottom half of the jeans - it's currently a pale blue-ish yellow instead of crisp white like I wanted. Not sure if it's because my bleach was weak or the indigo dye in the jeans or maybe the type of materials the jean is made of... Hmm... Either way, it was a fun project! The bows was a last minute decision. I wanted to stud the crap out of these shorts, but since I didn't have any studs and didn't want to waste 2 whole legs of jean fabric I decided to make these shorts "cute" hahaha. I'll be revamping another pair of jeans sometime very soon! Already ordered a bag of studs and now I'm searching for dyes to colour the shorts! :D

Here's a video tutorial that sparked the bows idea!

Have a good weekend everyone! :)

  1. Loving the bows at the back! So sweet. Nice job on the dye.
